The inspection, which took place in November, was conducted by one CQC inspector who spoke with two people who used the service, relatives, the registered manager and other team members.

Their report praised the service and said ‘people's quality of life had improved significantly due to the exceptionally responsive and person-centred support they received’.

The service was rated as ‘outstanding’ for the ‘responsiveness’ of its care services and the CQC also gave it a ‘good’ rating for four of its five inspection criteria which asked; is the service safe, effective, caring and well-led?

The report also highlighted the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Trinity House with one family member telling the inspector that ‘staff are caring and understanding’.

Special mention was made regarding the quality of the personalised care and how it gave people choice and control over their lives.

One relative commented, ‘The home is outstanding because staff treat people like their own family and the ethos is very caring’.

Trinity House Manager Nicola Harrison said she was delighted that the home had received such a positive report from the CQC.

She said: “We’re thrilled to have received this glowing report.
