The Killers huge North East gig has been rescheduled to 2021

The chart-topping rock band was forced to cancel their UK and Ireland 2020 tour due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis – but they have now released the new date for their gig at Riverside Stadium, in Middlesbrough.

The gig had been due to take place on Saturday, June 13 but has been cancelled because of the global pandemic.

Now, the band, whose hits include Somebody Told Me and Mr Brightside, have rescheduled the North East date for Thursday, June 10, 2021 .

The Las Vegas outfit will be supported by Manic Street Preachers at their North East gig.

The release of the band’s new album, Imploding The Mirage, has also been delayed but is expected to be out in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the Riverside Stadium gig are currently sold out.

But for everyone who has already bought tickets, these will be honoured.

Fans who can no longer make the new date have been asked to contact their ticket agent.

The Killers said: “UK and Ireland friends… We must postpone our UK and Ireland dates due to Covid. The single most important thing is that you all take care of yourselves and be safe and healthy.

“These are going to be the same great shows, but we have to move them to next year.

“All tickets will be honoured, so we really hope you can join us. If you can’t please contact your ticket agent.”

The Killers will be hosting a livestream on Instagram on Friday, April 24, at 8pm BST, taking questions from fans.
