Former Sunderland player Kevin Kilbane proposes to Dancing on Ice skating partner just months after meeting
Kevin Kilbane and his Dancing On Ice partner Brianne Delcourt are now engaged just four months after meeting, and days after being eliminated from the competition.
On Wednesday, February 5, it was confirmed that the two are now engaged. This follows the news that they were eliminated from Dancing On Ice’s ‘fairytale’ themed week on Sunday, February 2 saying their prize was finding each other.
Professional skater Brianne, 39, said that Boyle Sports ambassador Kevin, 42, had given her a "fairytale ending" after he proposed to her this week.
The couple met in October 2019 when they were partnered together on ITV’s Dancing On Ice, and they have been in an official relationship since December.
Brianne revealed Kevin’s romantic proposal on Instagram at @brianne_tv, sharing a video of him singing to her before getting down on one knee in a restaurant. Then, a waiter brought a cake to the table.
"Are you serious?" she asked, before saying yes to the proposal.
She captioned the post: "He couldn't have been more perfect - I love you @kdkilbane77. 02.04.2020."
In another post, she showed off her engagement ring, captioning that post: “He was worth the wait. Kev, you’ve made me the happiest girl in the world. You’re my fairytale ending @kdkilbane77.”
Celebrities including Love Island’s Jordan Hames, actresses Jorgie Porter and Faye Brookes, Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown and ex Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner rallied in support of the announcement in the comments of the post.
They first spoke about their romance in early January, when Kevin told OK! magazine: "There was an attraction with Brianne the first time I met her.
"But it was way more than that. Everything clicked.”
Kevin, who played for Sunderland, has two daughters from his previous marriage, Elsie, 15, and Isla, 14 and Brianne has three-year-old daughter Gracie from a previous relationship.
The Canadian skater has appeared on Dancing On Ice since 2010. The last time Brianne won the competition was on March 27, 2011 with her celebrity partner Sam Attwater.
Dancing On Ice continues on ITV1 on Sunday, February 9 at 6pm.
