Paul and Christine McDonald are raffling their four-bedroom Tunstall Hill home for just £2.50 a ticket.

The couple, who are parents to 16-year-old Luke and 13-year-old Evan, are hoping to sell 100,000 tickets so they can fulfil their dreams of moving to Australia.

Now they’ve pledged to donate 5% of their takings from the raffle to the Bradley Lowery Foundation when all 100,000 tickets are sold.

Christine, a mental health worker for the NHS, said: “We have sold more than 25,000 tickets so far.

"We decided that we would be in a position to benefit a charity once we sell all 100,000 tickets.

"We took the Bradley story to our hearts so we thought what better than helping with their holiday home for poorly children.

"So not only could someone be mortgage free we would also be helping out lots of other families through the foundation.”

The lucky winner of the draw, which is operated by online raffle platform Raffall, will be chosen at random when all 100,000 tickets have been sold – with a deadline of Saturday, December 5.

The foundation was set up by the parents of Sunderland AFC fan Bradley Lowery to support other families in honour of the brave six-year-old.

Mum Gemma Lowery said: “We are very touched that Christine and her family have pledged to donate five per cent of their raffle money to the Bradley Lowery Foundation. Like all charities, our fundraising efforts have been hit hard by the coronavirus, because we rely on donations to keep going.

“We wish Christine and her family the best of luck with the raffle and thank them for their support. The money they raise will enable us to keep helping dozens of poorly children and their families to get the help and support they need.”
