Family create heartbreaking video of a little Sunderland girl's brave fight with incurable cancer

A moving tribute has been paid to a special little Sunderland girl and the way she has bravely fought cancer.

The emotional three minute video of ‘Lana’s journey so far’ follows the story of ‘brave princess’ Lana Nixon.

In November 2018, Lana was diagnosed with ATRT which is an Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor.

It is a fast growing cancerous tumour of the brain and spinal cord.

Lana pictured shortly before she became ill.

Now, 14 months after she was first diagnosed, Lana from Sunderland is still smiling and fighting despite long hours of surgery, intense chemotherapy and lengthy stays in hospital.

She has even learned to walk again and just started nursery this week.

The video shows that inspirational journey and the family’s hopes that they can ‘make more smiles’.
