'Central power outage' at Sunderland Empire Theatre has been resolved
Sunderland Empire Theatre experienced a power outage, leaving customers unable to book tickets for shows at the venue during that time.
The power issue was announced by the theatre on Thursday, February 6 as an alert to their customers.
Tickets for upcoming shows at the High Street West theatre were unavailable to book during the outage.
The theatre used its social media accounts to make their customers aware of the ongoing problem. It was hoped the service would be back in use later on Thursday.
At around 10.45am, a spokesperson for the theatre tweeted: “Owing to a central power outage, it is not currently possible to book tickets.
“We are working with our service provider to resolve the issue. We will let you know once we’re back up and running. Please check back later today.
Thankfully, at around 1pm on Thursday, the theatre tweeted to confirm that the issue had been resolved.
The tweet said: “The central power issue has now been resolved. It is now possible to book tickets.
“Thank you for your patience.”
