Amanda Brown said: “Max Terris has walked every day since the first lockdown to raise funds for Sunderland Carers Centre to hold a celebration event for young carers once they are able to come together in person again.”

Sophie Brown said: “My mother, Leigh Brown. She's had one hell of a year, last year my dad was diagnosed with incurable cancer so 2020 was supposed to be a year of living and making memories. Then Covid hit, our family was split up so that we could keep dad as safe as possible, treatment for him was cancelled in March. She's kept hundreds as safe as possible in her work as a nursing home manager, with all the stress healthcare workers have felt along the way.”

Jennifer Roll said: “Jade West has kept us all going through lockdown with virtual daily classes! She’s always at the end of the phone for help and support or just a general chit chat as she simply cares! She’s not just physically helping us but also mentally. Such an amazing person inside and out! Always thinking of others first! 100% a hero.”

Leoni Thompson said: “Sally Hall kept me sane in the first lockdown! Workouts via Zoom, running clubs when we were allowed and then solo challenges to keep us all motivated! Can’t thank her enough!”
