John Alderson, of Seaburn, took these fantastic pictures at Roker on Wednesday, June 10. He caught surfer Jonny Rubin, who is from Sunderland but usually works in Cornwall, in action in the water at around 4.30am. John decided to re-start his hobby and hone his craft after seeing the inspirational work of other photographers working in the Wearside area. He added: “I wander along the coastline at all times and just look to capture anything that interests me.” Check out some of his stunning work in this picture special.
