Pensioners offered a helping hand

WEARSIDE pensioners are being offered a helping hand to plan their dying days.

Age UK Sunderland is holding a Positive Planning Morning to give older people the chance to get their affairs in order, including funeral plans and wills.

Alan Patchett, director at Age UK Sunderland said, “Taking out an Age UK Funeral Plan makes financial sense, as you’re effectively paying for your funeral at today’s prices.

“This not only means that the financial burden won’t fall on relatives, but it also ensures that your personal wishes can be carried out, which can be a great source of comfort for family at an upsetting time.”

The event is at the Bradbury Centre, Stockton Road on Tuesday, from 9:30am to noon.
