Passenger urinated in Sunderland station after being approached by ticket inspectors

A TRAIN passenger was arrested after he urinated in public.

Officers from British Transport Police had already been called to Park Lane Interchange in Sunderland by ticket inspectors after Wayne Welsh refused to provide his details, and began swearing.

As officers were removing his luggage Welsh began to urinate at the steps at the bottom of the station, Sunderland magistrates were told.

The 44-year-old, from Swindon, who was not represented in court, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. Magistrates fined him £70, with £85 court costs to pay and a £25 victim surcharge.
