A GLAMOROUS party to launch a Sunderland entrepreneur’s latest charitable venture has been hailed a hit.

Amy Pink held a glitzy champagne party at the Quayside Exchange, in the East End, to officially launch her Calendar Girls project and latest venture Dangerous Couture, which sells burlesque-based clothing.

The mum-of-two, from Humbledon, has already raised money for cancer charities and helped to raise awareness of cervical cancer through her 2012 Calendar Girls-style calendar.

Work has already started on planning an even bigger calendar for next year and the 12 girls were on hand at the event to be introduced to guests.

A raffle was also held, which raised £244 for the cancer day patient unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
