Council and police staff will both be directing traffic ahead of the funeral of Denise Robertson next week.

Denise died aged 83 last week following a battle with pancreatic cancer since the beginning of this year.

The popular This Morning presenter and agony aunt's funeral will be held at Sunderland Minster on Wednesday, starting at 1pm.

The service will be followed by interment at Grangetown Cemetery.

Funeral director John G Hogg say that council staff and police officers will be present to direct vehicles to car parks and areas where permitted parking is available ahead of the funeral.

The nearest car park to Sunderland Minster is Livingstone Road, with Debenhams car park at the back of the church.

Her family have asked for family flowers only, with donations, if so desired, to be made to The Bubble Foundation.

As well as a number of other charities, the This Morning regular was a staunch supporter of the charity based at the Great North Childrens’ Hospital, which supports poorly children and their families, whilst also helping to fund research.

Tributes from across the country were paid to the broadcaster and author, who lived in East Boldon, following her death.

The great grandma had been receiving treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London when she died.
