PARENTS can kit their children out for less at a special event in Sunderland.
To help families cope with economic harship and having to tighten their belts, the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is holding a nearly new sale in the city tomorrow.
The event takes place from 10.30am, at Fulwell Methodist Church Hall, Dovedale Road.
Katie Briton, co-chairman of the NCT Sunderland and South Tyneside Branch, said: “There are so many benefits to NCT nearly new sales.
“Some parents sell items they no longer need, others pick up a bargain for the kids, all while helping to preserve the environment for their future and supporting NCT.”
The sales are open to everyone.
Parents can buy bedding, changing stations, Moses’ baskets, travel cots and baby baths at a fraction of the cost of new.
Last year, more than 200,000 parents attended an NCT nearly new sale, raising in excess of £1million for the charity.
Funds raised from the sales go towards the charity’s vital services and support for parents.
They include providing research, running national helplines, local services such as breastfeeding and coffee mornings, and training antenatal and postnatal teachers.
