Margaret Francis: “I will be be sticking to the restrictions, I want the virus to be under control and get back to normal living. We have endured this long why give in now.”

Jean Clark: “I think it’s very silly to come out of restrictions now so what we don't have a drink together or have a meal together, more people will die if we're not sensible over the Christmas period.”

Sharon Carney: “We are just going to undo all the hard work that has gone to try and make things better. What’s more important, keeping safe and being around in the future, or going about as normal free for all?”

Tracy Coulson: “Would love to spend Christmas Day with relatives etc but they are in their 70s so for the sake of one day, I personally don’t think it’s worth the risk!”

Phil Connolly: “As long as everybody does things as safe and as secure as possible, people need to see family and friends.”

Sharon Newman: As hard as it is ... I’d rather give Christmas a miss this year and get to see my family next year! Why relax for five days just to have extended lockdown afterwards?”

Karen Johnson: “I think we should use common sense like we’ve been asked. Unfortunately there appears to be a distinct lack of it.”

Chris Melville: “Does it really matter if they do or don't say we can or can't. After the year we've had people are going to do what they want to regardless.”
