‘Labour has abandoned the North East’

The Shadow Transport Minister announced on Radio 4 on September 3 that Labour have pledged £10billion to build “cross rail of the North”.

This will, in his words, “connect the great northern cities”.

He then went on to explain that this will run from Liverpool to Leeds then on to link with Hull.

This is further proof that Labour has abandoned the North East and has no plans to change that.

Perhaps Labour think that the hundreds of millions ploughed into the North East by the Conservatives is enough?
