FAMILIES can visit top tourism attractions for less as part of a new online scheme.

The latest Durham Deals have been launched by Visit County Durham after it teamed up with venues and businesses across the area to set up promotions for more than 75 activities, restaurants, bed and breakfasts and hotels.

The vouchers are available via www.thisisdurham.com/deals and make their return after the success of previous campaigns, with almost 20,000 downloaded last year.

Alex Tocu is site manager at Beamish Wild, one of the locations taking part.

He said: “Durham Deals are excellent and easy for both the business and visitors to use.

“They can be downloaded, used the same day, and are an ideal opportunity to share the magical experience of visiting Durham with partners, friends and family.

“We are looking forward to welcoming many more Durham Deals this autumn to experience exciting activities you can find at Beamish Wild.”

The team behind the offers is also hoping it will draw in tourists from outside the area during Lumiere, the four-night light festival which will be held in Durham from Thursday, November 17.
