This is not really a city

I am sick of people on the radio going on about how great our so-called city is.

It’s not a city, just a town full of pound shops and Greggs. It’s terrible, shops boarded up, and as far as city of culture goes, there’s no chance of winning, totally embarrassing.

I work in Newcastle, it’s much better shopping there.

Northumberland Street is better than our so-called city.

So come on, Sunderland council, do something about it, please.
