Northern League: Easington roar back in super style to sink Whickham

Easington Colliery came from behind to secure a thrilling 3-2 win at home to Whickham in Ebac Northern League Division Two last night.

Jack Pounder fired past keeper John Mordey to give Easington a 15th-minute lead, but Kyle Wharton headed a corner past Kyle Donaldson to level, two minutes later.

Pounder hit the post with a header, from James Talbot’s cross, then blazed a controversial penalty over the bar, when Talbot had been fouled in the act of scoring.
