MAGPIES captain Kevin Nolan is facing a driving ban after being caught doing twice the legal speed limit.
The midfielder reached 65mph in a 30mph zone in a Range Rover on May 1 last year. He was snapped by a speed trap on the A188 Benton Lane in Longbenton, North Tyneside.
The Newcastle player’s lawyers questioned the reliability of the camera equipment used on the day.
Evidence from a police officer and speed gun specialist, however, led a district judge to find the case proved.
Nolan, 28, from Darras Hall, Ponteland, was not at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court for the trial.
He will be sentenced next month and was warned he could be banned from driving.
