Moussa Sissoko is angling for a move away from Newcastle

Sissoko has given another interview stating his keenness to leave St James’s Park this summer.

But the £35million-rated midfielder has NOT handed in a transfer request.

And, as yet, the Magpies are yet to receive a bid for the 26-year-old, who is unlikely to be involved in tomorrow’s Championship match against Huddersfield Town at St James’s Park (3pm kick-off).

“I hope Real will come for me,” said Sissoko. “I’m still waiting.

“If Real Madrid are interested in you then of course you will be happy, but right now I am still a Newcastle player.”

Sissoko gave two interviews last week without asking for permission from the club’s PR department.

The Tynesiders chose not to take disciplinary action, however they have taken a dim view of his latest plea for a move.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez and managing director Lee Charnley must decide what, if any, action to take against Sissoko, who is also interesting Juventus.

In his latest unauthorised interview, Sissoko asked supporters to “understand” his position.

Sissoko came under fire from fans last season for a series of lacklustre performances during the Magpies’ relegation fight, though he ended the campaign as Benitez’s stand-in captain in the absence through injury of then-skipper Fabricio Coloccini.

But the 26-year-old, signed from Toulouse in January 2013, has insisted he gave “everything” to United.

Sissoko told the BBC World Service: “They (the fans) need to understand, I spent three-and-a-half years here.

“I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that, I need to go somewhere else.

“I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League. That’s why I said I want to leave this year.

“I’ve spent a lot of time here, and now it’s time to look forward.

“The fans need to understand my situation. I hope they will and that everything will be OK.”
