Middlesbrough are expected to be very busy during the transfer window this summer after earning promotion into the Premier League and the Teesside outfit have already moved quickly to agree a deal for Danish youngster Viktor Fischer.

It has been revealed that Middlesbrough have already agreed on a £3.8million fee with Ajax Amsterdam for Fischer, and have also come to an agreement over personal terms with the player.

The transfer is not official as of yet as the last few bits of paperwork has to be signed, but the deal is all but certain to go through.

The youngster told Danish media outlet TV 2 Sport: “This means a lot. It’s why I’ve taken this move.

“I would really like (to play in the Premier League) – it’s the greatest league in the world and I feel really ready.

“And the welcoming I’ve received over there, I feel part of it now.

“That’s the most important thing, I’ve realised.

“I assume I’m at the same level as everyone else (in the squad) – maybe with a little head start, but like everyone else I want to prove that.

“I should play. (But) this isn’t Holland anymore – this is the Premier League. It’s on another level.”
