After being closed for four months, the Seaton Lane Inn, in the village of Seaton, near Seaham, has opened its doors with a completely new look.

The overhaul includes a total redesign of the inn’s dining and bar area, which has an outdoors theme – complete with botanical-themed orangery.

Each of the inn’s 18 en-suite bedrooms have also been refurbished – however, in a nod to tradition, the pub has retained its white exterior.

General manager Paul Brown said: “What a transformation. It is absolutely stunning.

“The best thing has been seeing people’s reactions when they step inside.

“We went to great lengths to keep the new interior a secret, and the end result is spectacular, with real wow-factor.”

As well as improving facilities for guests, the regeneration of The Seaton Lane Inn is expected to generate further jobs at the inn, bringing the total number of staff employed to 35.

The Seaton Lane Inn is owned by North East leisure operators, The Inn Collection Group.

Managing director Sean Donkin said: “We are absolutely delighted with the refurbishment.”
