New jobs in South Tyneside as charity grows
Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle (Groundwork STAN) will soon hiring new staff within its ranks.
It’s understood in the region of seven new jobs will be created.

Hide AdThis comes as the communities’ charity, which is based at the Echo Centre in Windmill Way in Hebburn, takes on the forthcoming management of the former Bede’s World site in Jarrow.
This will be Groundwork’s biggest ever recruitment drive with new managerial roles available as well as further roles based at the museum’s Church Bank site – which will be announced upon completion of the necessary legalities between Groundwork STAN and the site’s liquidators.
The site, which celebrates the life and times of the Venerable Bede, closed in February after lurching into financial difficulties
Andrew Watts, Groundwork’s executive director, said expansion of services, which also includes taking on the running of unique events space, Skylight Newcastle on Westgate Road had led to structural change and the creation of new job opportunities.

Hide AdMr Watts said: “We have a number of fantastic opportunities to develop our work within the communities we serve and we need talented people.”
The charity’s aim is to builds people’s skills and improves job prospects, while redesigning neglected open spaces and motivating people.
