This comes as the communities’ charity, which is based at the Echo Centre in Windmill Way in Hebburn, takes on the forthcoming management of the former Bede’s World site in Jarrow.

This will be Groundwork’s biggest ever recruitment drive with new managerial roles available as well as further roles based at the museum’s Church Bank site – which will be announced upon completion of the necessary legalities between Groundwork STAN and the site’s liquidators.

The site, which celebrates the life and times of the Venerable Bede, closed in February after lurching into financial difficulties

Andrew Watts, Groundwork’s executive director, said expansion of services, which also includes taking on the running of unique events space, Skylight Newcastle on Westgate Road had led to structural change and the creation of new job opportunities.
