NEIGHBOURS celebrated scooping their share of a lottery jackpot.
A bumper prize of £2million was divided between residents of the SR8 3UU postcode.
One lucky player, from Little Thorpe, near Peterlee, scooped the lion’s share when he netted £400,000. The unnamed man, who was unable to attend a celebration event for winners, invited his parents, Mari and Robert Place, to collect the cheque.
Dad Robert said: “I know we’re biased, but we couldn’t think of a more deserving winner. We’re not players ourselves but we’re going home now to sign up, particularly after learning more about the local projects and charities that receive support. ”
