The mum-of-three dazzled Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry with her lemon drizzle wedding cake – but what’s the nation’s favourite?
Millions tuned in to watch Nadiya beat Tamal and Ian to this year’s Great British Bake Off crown.
But now that the competition is over, we want to know what your favourite sweet treat is.
National Cake Week is being celebrated across the country this week – with many British jewels making it into the nation’s top picks.
Nadiya’s lemon drizzle and Ian’s showstopping carrot cake are among the top 10 favourites. Others include Victoria spong, Cherry Bakewell and coffee cake.
Chocolate cake has taken the number one spot in the chart, which was compiled last year following a survey by Mr Kipling.
On last night’s GBBO final, Tamal created a sticky toffee pudding inspired cake, complete with a spun-sugar cobweb. But his concoction, along with Ian’s five-tiered carrot cake, could not snatch the shine from Nadiya’s lemon with fondant.
She also impressed Paul and Mary with her iced buns, in the signature bake, and raspberry mille feuille, in the technical challenge.
