A MYSTERY poet has struck again!

The secret scribbler has been sending uplifting letters to another Sunderland salon, it has emerged.

Lisa Marie Hair Studio, in Blind Lane, Silksworth, is the latest hairdressing business in the city to receive the poems, which are being sent to people around the country.

Last week, the Echo reported how Show Off salon, in Roker Baths Road, had also received poems from the man dubbed the “Banksy of Poetry”.

The poems always arrive written in silver pen on black card and are signed by Mark Jones, but no one knows if that’s the poet’s true identity, or where he’s from.

Stylist Emma McLaren, from Lisa Marie Hair Studio, said: “We got the first one five weeks ago and have had one a week since then. When we received the first one we thought someone had an admirer and when we got more, we started googling and realising other people had been receiving them.

“They’re lovely and always have nice messages in them like ‘keep smiling.’ We get really excited to get them now.

“It seems he likes salons as he sends them to others around the country. We look forward to them now and all our clients read them. We are thinking of getting them framed.” Mr Jones seems to have a penchant for salons, with hairdressers across the country, from North Wales to Lancashire, being sent the poems with no explanation. But benefactors also include churches and hotels.

Show Off salon owner Megan Goodings says they’ve started looking forward to the cryptic cards.

She added: “They are all hand-written and touch upon themes of love and bravery, they’re lovely really.”
