Multi-vehicle crash causes delays on A1 southbound

A crash involving multiple vehicles is causing disruption on the A1 southbound.

The smash happened at approximately 5.45pm between the A167 Chester-le-Street junction and the A690 at Carrville.

There is stationary traffic on the road and emergency services are en route.
