Motorcyclist taken to hospital as road traffic collision sparks major delays on A19 near Hartlepool

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with leg injuries after a road traffic collision on the A19 near Hartlepool.

Major delays are expected while officers from Cleveland police carry out inquiries into the collision which happened just before 5pm today.

The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with leg injuries.

Meanwhile, the A19 has been closed in both direction between Portrack roundabout and Billingham A1027 - A139.

Police are advising people to avoid the area.

The Great North Air Ambulance was also in attendance.
