THE police officer blinded by killer Raoul Moat has confirmed his 20-year marriage is over.
Pc David Rathband announced on Twitter that wife Kath had “called time” on their relationship.
“Sad to announce Mrs R has called time on our marriage separation permanent,” he Tweeted.
The couple announced in September that they were to live separately, but emphasised at the time the move was intended to aid Pc Rathband’s rehabilitation.
He was arrested in August on suspicion of assault at their Cramlington home.
The 43-year-old officer, who began his police career in Sunderland, was shot twice by Moat as he sat in his patrol car in July last year.
He has worked for charity since his release from hospital, setting up the Blue Lamp Foundation to help to injured members of the emergency services.
