Missing Sunderland man David James is found safe and well
A man from Sunderland who was declared missing has been found safe and well.
Thirty-four-year-old David James had not been seen since leaving home in Silksworth a week ago.
His family spoke of their desperate search to find him.
They have now contacted the Echo to say he has been found and the police have been informed.
David's sister Michelle passed on her thanks to the Echo for its help in publicising news of his disappearance.
She said: "The police have phoned and David is safe.
"He's with a charity we don't know to much at the minute apart from he's out of this area.
"The police are working closely with the charity and they will let us know when he's ready to come home."
A spokesman for Northumbria Police confirmed David has been found.
