RUGBY stars of the future can try out their skills with new training sessions.
The sessions are being introduced throughout the summer in a bid to help young Wearsiders who are interested in learning more about the game.
Mini rugby gives youngsters an introduction to the sport with the rules altered from the adult game to accommodate the young players.
The sessions will run throughout June and July at Wearmouth CW Cricket Club in Thompson Road, Southwick.
Parents are invited to bring their children along to the weekly sessions, between 10.30am and 11.30am on Sunday mornings.
No prior experience is needed but the training sessions are only open to Year 3 schoolchildren, those between seven and eight years old.
Mini and tag rugby have become increasingly popular in recent years with a number of clubs across the North East now running leagues.
Expert teaching is on hand from qualified coaches.
