Military vehicles at rally

Have your say

AN Army truck with royal connections will be among exhibits at a massive gathering of military vehicles.

The 1942 Austin Tilly pick-up, which is the same model as that driven by the Queen during the Second World War, will be on display at the 39th North East Military Vehicle Rally in Durham.

The region’s biggest get together of its kind takes place in the grounds of the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery on Sunday, August 26, and Monday, August 27, from 10am to 4pm.

The annual show, organised by the North East Military Vehicle Club, will feature about 60 restored vehicles and artillery dating from the 1930s to the present day.

There will also be stalls, living history displays and dioramas as well as events and activities for all the family.
