Metro workers out on strike

Have your say

CLEANERS contracted to cover the Metro are to stage a 48-hour strike as they continue efforts to win a pay rise.

Transport union RMT has confirmed members who work for Churchill will begin action by not booking on to any shifts between 10.30pm on Sunday and 10.30pm on Tuesday.

It follows three previous says of strikes over a lack of a pay rise and what they say has been victimisation of an RMT member.

The union says despite extensive talks between Churchill’s and DB Regio, which operates the Metro, the company has offered no increase in basic pay.
