Meeting reveals crime is falling in Sunderland’s East End

CRIME has fallen in the East End of Sunderland.

The number of crimes reported to police patrolling the Long Streets area has fallen to just seven in the last five weeks.

People at a regular Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting were told about the incidents.

The get-together, in Back on the Map’s shop in Villette Road, heard there had been an assault in Canon Cockin Street; a theft from a motor vehicle in Percy Terrace; a burglary from a house in Fuller Road; someone arrested for possession of an offensive weapon in Hastings Street; a person caught with cannabis in Cairo Street; a theft from a house in Percy Terrace and a theft from a car in Canon Cockin Street.

The next (PACT) meeting is expected to take place in Hendon library, on Monday, April 14, from 6.30pm.
