HERE he is ... Wearside’s bonniest baby Sebastian Suddick.
Sebastian’s angelic face and golden locks won over Echo readers who crowned him winner of Bonny Babies 2012 competition.
The toddler, from High Barnes, was winner of the 18 months to three years category and pipped the other finalists to the post.
“We’re overjoyed. His dad and I can’t believe it,” said proud mum Sarah, 39. “Especially out of all of those other children. The queue was that huge for the photographs that we nearly came away but his grandma persuaded me to take him and I’m glad we did now.
“We had all of the family voting for him, his grandparents and great-grandparents, aunties and uncles and even some of my work colleagues.”
In the final, Sebastian went head to head with one-year-old Jakey McIntyre, from Hendon, who won the 0-18 months category and three-year-old Alesha Anderson, from Ashbrooke, who won the three to five years category.
Mum Sarah, who is a ward sister at Sunderland Royal Hospital, said Sebastian’s blond curls are always a talking point.
“He’s just gorgeous, a lot of people comment on his lovely hair and obviously I’m biased but people have always said how cute he was from him being very small. I’m not sure if I’ll enter him in any more competitions but who knows, in the future he might get a little modelling contract.”
Sebastian will take the top prize of £100 to spend on clothes in Debenhams and a printed canvas.
Sarah is due to tie the knot with Sebastian’s dad, Alex Suddick, 32, on December 12 this year in Las Vegas.
She added: “We’ll use the vouchers to get him some clothes for his holidays in December. Get him ready for Vegas.”
