Masked raiders threaten householder at knifepoint before bursting into home and stealing cash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a Sunderland home in which masked men threatened a victim with a knife.

The aggravated burglary took place around 9.30am on Sunday, March 19, at a property in Queen Alexandra Road.

Two men approached the victim on the driveway and made threats with a knife, before they entered the house and stole cash.

The victim was not injured in the incident.

Officers are carrying out inquiries and keen to trace any witnesses.

The offenders are described as wearing black balaclavas, tracksuits and trainers.

One was tall and one was medium height.
