A TWO-DAY course will help people find new skills to help them negotiate their way around the countryside.
The classes will teach beginners how to use a map and compass to avoid becoming lost and stranded when out walking.
It is being organised by Durham County Council’s Countryside Service and will be held on Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1, between 10am and 3pm on both days.
The cost of the course is £30 and bookings are being taken now.
People will need to take a Silva-type compass and a North Pennines Outdoor Leisure Map number 31 with them. To book, call 03000 264 589 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
