The collision happened at 6.15pm yesterday, Saturday, June 27, on the B1287 coast road between Ryhope and Seaham.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision after a car rolled over in a field near Lord Byron’s Walk near Seaham.
“We sent an ambulance and took one male patient to Sunderland Royal Hospital.
“His injuries were not life-threatening.”
