Man injured in assault

A MAN has been arrested after an assault in Sunderland.

A 35-year-old man was attacked at about 9pm on Sunday outside Castletown Snooker Club in Castleview.

He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is in police custody.

Officers are carrying out inquiries in the area.
