Man hurt and residents threatened by gang armed with baseball bat in Sunderland street

Police have launched an appeal for information after a man was injured and residents were threatened by a gang armed with a baseball bat during a street disturbance in Sunderland.

Police are appealing for information after a street disturbance in Sunderland.

A gang of men - one carrying a baseball bat - threatened the occupants of an address in Gilsland Street in the city at 8pm on Tuesday night before making off.

A man suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The group arrived at the street in a dark coloured Ford Mondeo.

Officers are carrying out inquiries and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
