Man had head stamped on in sickening attack at Hartlepool bus stop

A man stood at a bus stop in Hartlepool was left bruised and bleeding by an attacker who stamped on his head.

The 42-year-old was waiting for a bus on Raby Road opposite St Oswald Street when a man grabbed him from behind in a choke hold.

He was then headbutted, knocked to the ground before his attacker stamped on his head.

He was left with bruising to his head and face and bleeding from his nose.

The attack stopped when the bus arrived. The victim then got on the x35 bus which was travelling North.

It happened on Friday December 18 at around 2.30pm.
