Man charged with assaulting police officer at Iceland store
A police officer was assaulted after a man was kicked out of a food store in South Tyneside.

Offices were called to Iceland on Chichester Road in South Shields at 7.02pm on Saturday, May 21, following concerns about a man.
The man was reportedly causing a disturbance after being asked to leave the store by staff.
A 52-year-old man was then charged with common assault and assaulting a police officer.
While a 49-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing an officer in the execution of their duty and has been summonsed.

Roy Page, 52, is due to appear before South Tyneside Magistrates' Court on June 21.
