A WEARSIDE man accused of sex offences with a 14-year-old girl will have his case heard in crown court.
Andrew Ross, 28, appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court to face one charge of grooming a minor for sex and two charges of sexual activity with an under-16.
He is said to have contacted the girl, from South Tyneside, on Facebook between Christmas Day last year and January 16.
Ross, from Gladstone Street, Sunderland, also faces a public order charge, relating to a threat allegedly made to police when he was arrested.
He entered no pleas and his case was sent for trial to Newcastle Crown Court on April 6. He was granted bail with a curfew and must report to Sunderland police station every day.
