MOVEMBER men are being encouraged to show off their facial hair at fight nights this weekend.
Peterlee-based wrestling promoter Paul Fahey is inviting along to the show men who are growing a moustache to help raise funds and awareness of men’s health and cancers including prostate cancer.
The North East Wrestling Society is holding the event at Peterlee Leisure Centre on Friday and Seaham Leisure Centre on Saturday.
They will be headlined by a Last Man Standing match between Lowthian and Iceman at Peterlee and a Mexican Street Fight with Martin Kirby challenging British Champion El Ligero at Seaham.
Wrestlers will be among those showing off their facial hair growth.
Paul has promised to make a donation for every wrestler, member of staff and fan who turns up with a Movember moustache.
He said: “We are a family show and while the mothers and kids can’t take part we have enough fathers and other male adults who attend who can get involved.”
Tickets can be bought from the venues or by calling 07508 013 332. They cost £8 for under 16s, £10 for adults and family of four ticket is £32, with information available via www.newrestling.co.uk
Doors open at 6.30pm with the shows running from 7pm.
