Lumley come out on top in battle with Conservatives

Breaks of 55 and 28 saw Martin Ball dominate the first frame before Michael Monaghan beat Paul Stoves.

Breaks of 32 and 24 saw Ian Hughes control the third frame, but Joe Nord levelled the match in the next frame.

In the pairs, Martin Ball and Paul Stoves won Lumley the match beating Michael Monaghan/Les Pinder 52-11.

Mill View B welcomed Pennywell Comrades and had an excellent 5-0 win which has moved them into second place.

Keith Johnston got Mill View A off to a good start away at Murton Officials beating Robin Midson before John Burnell won a close second frame on the final black.

A 21 break helped Jimmy Ashcroft pull one back for Murton before Harland Davidson levelled the match.

In the pairs, another final black ball frame saw Justin Ebdy/Bobby Carne win the close frame 45-44 for an excellent 3-2 win for Murton.

Murton Colliery stormed to a whitewash 5-0 win over the Victory, thanks to Gary Stockton, Steven Cook, Stephen Clementson.

Murton completed the clean sweep with Eddie Williamson/Stephen Clementson winning the pairs beating Ray James/John Butler 71-34.

Cheemas earned a hard-fought 3-2 victory when they travelled to The Railway.

In Division One, Adam Smith got South Hylton off to the perfect start at home to Washington Snooker B.

Ian Stewart won the second frame before Graham Rutland responded.

John Hall won the fourth for Washington, before Adam Smith/Bobby Boyce won the pairs for the 4-1 win.

Washington Snooker A romped to a 5-0 win over Biddick A, thanks to Norman Leslie, Stephen Thompson and Jay Dewar. Gavin Dixon took the fourth, before teaming up with Stephen Thompson to complete the victory.

Glendale took the first two frames at home to Whitburn, thanks to Liam Irving and Thomas Gwyn. Graeme Ablett pulled one back for Whitburn before John Smith levelled the match.

In the pairs, Frank McParlin/Paul Atkinson stopped the comeback, beating Graeme Ablett/Adam Parker to win the match 3-2.

Kevin Chapman, Andrew Drinkwater, Brian Meuse put Lumley B in control against Green Baize. Richie Tiffin/Brian Meuse won the pairs for the clean sweep.

Biddick B edged out Steels 3-2 in the final pairs frame.

In the pairs, Trevor Walton/Peter Mills beat Tommy Ayre/Lee Norton for the win.
