Here is a first glimpse of the glowing artworks which will fill a city as a festival makes its fourth return to the region.
Lumiere will spark into life tomorrow night in the first of four nights of celebrations across Durham, with these stunning shots taken from the dress rehearsal.
Twenty-nine artworks have been set up across the city, transforming some of its most iconic buildings and spots with washes of colour, while opening up some of its lesser known lanes and locations.
And tonight, many were lit up as part of a rehearsal.
They included light commisions such as The World Machine, Mysticéte, Luminéoles and many others.
Lumiere 2015 will run from 4.30pm – 11pm from Thursday until Sunday.
