NEARLY £400,000 in grants has been awarded to community groups across the North East.
The Big Lottery Fund has announced it will be giving a cash injection of up to £10,000 to 49 schemes throughout the region.
The grants have been awarded through The Big Lottery’s Awards For All grants.
Durham Hospitals’ Radio is one of the projects that is set to benefit from the major funding boost.
It will receive £9,755 to develop an online broadcasting service so that families and friends across the country can listen to the radio station and send messages to patients they know in hospital and reduce any feeling of isolation.
