Denise Robertson: funeral details announced for Sunderland agony aunt
It’s been announced that the agony aunt’s funeral will take place next week in her beloved home city.
A service to mark the 83-year-old’s life will take place at Sunderland Minster on Wednesday, April 13 at 1pm, ahead of an interment at Grangetown Cemetery.

Hide AdThe family have asked for family flowers only, with donations, if so desired, to be made to The Bubble Foundation.
As well as a number of other charities, the This Morning regular was a staunch supporter of the charity based at the Great North Childrens’ Hospital, which
supports poorly children and their families, whilst also helping to fund research.
Tributes from across the country were paid to the broadcaster and author, who lived in East Boldon, after she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer last Thursday.

Hide AdIn mid-February, Denise announced she was taking a break from the hit daytime show after a shock cancer diagnosis, but said she hoped to be back on the sofa soon.
The great grandma had been receiving treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London when she died.
But she will be returned to Sunderland, where she was born and raised, to be laid to rest.
SAFC were among those to pay tribute to the Black Cats supporter, who’d attended matches since she was a teenager.

Hide AdA spokesman from the club said: “Everyone at SAFC is deeply saddened to hear that TV’s Denise Robertson has passed away. Denise was a passionate and dedicated Sunderland fan and had followed the lads since attending her first game as a teenager at Roker Park.
“She was ambassador for the club’s charity and a great supporter of the north east region as a whole. She will be greatly missed and the thoughts of everyone at the football club are with her friends and family at this time.”
Denise leaves husband Bryan Thubron, son Mark and step-children David, Peter, Philip and the late John.
