Graham, who signed on loan at Ewood Park for the rest of the season in January, headed home Rovers’ third in their 3-0 win against Fulham earlier this week.

And fresh from scoring his first goal for the club, Graham has revealed he hopes to be staying in the North West much longer than his initial four-month stay.

The 30-year-old striker has confirmed his contract won’t be getting renewed at Sunderland but after impressing new boss Paul Lambert, he is now looking to the future.

“Since the moment I’ve walked through the door the staff and the players have been superb with me,” added Graham, who was the Championship’s top scorer in 2010-11.

“It does feel like I’ve been here longer than three weeks or so.

“That’s a good thing and hopefully we’ll do well together.
“I feel as though I’m playing well.

“Everyone knows it was a tough time for me at Sunderland but I’ll never hide from that.

“I think it’ll make me a stronger person going forward.
“It’s nice to be back up front, it’s nice to be getting a run of games and obviously it was nice to get the goal as well and hopefully I can kick on from there.

“I’ve been in situations like this before when I haven’t scored for a while but maybe not as bad as this one.

“But I’m tougher mentally now than what I was a few years ago. I don’t let anything faze me. I just go out there and I’m confident if I get a chance I will score.

“100 per cent [I would be interested in staying]. My Sunderland contract is up in the summer and that won’t be getting renewed.

“Hopefully it all goes well and we can sort something out in the summer,” added the former Watford and Swansea City hitman.

Graham, who scored once in an unhappy three years at the Stadium of Light, will not be able to play in Sunday’s FA Cup game against West Ham United after featuring for the Black Cats in their third-round defeat at holders Arsenal.

Since joining Rovers, Graham has impressed in games against Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough and Fulham.
