Just days before David Moyes will unleash the striker for Sunderland's trip to Carragher's beloved Liverpool, the former Reds defender has joined the chorus of praise for the powerhouse.

Anichebe is the talk of the Premier League at the moment after inspiring the Black Cats to back-to-back victories to move them off the foot of the table.

The 28-year-old was signed on a free transfer AFTER the window closed - no club signed him following his release by West Bromwich Albion.

Anichebe totalled nine goals in three seasons for the Baggies but now has three in two starts for Sunderland.

"There's been one man who has come in and changed it - and it's Victor Anichebe," Liverpool legend Carragher said on Monday Night Football.

"He's been a massive difference.

"I don't think there's anyone better with their back to goal than Anichebe.

"Backing into a centre-back, getting the ball to his feet - I played against him and he's an absolute nightmare."

The Sky Sports pundit has previously been a fierce critic of Sunderland and recently blasted Lamine Kone as "lazy" and said he sees "a really poor group of players who would struggle in the Championship".

Clearly, he views his old rival from Everton in a different light.
